Background and purpose: enuresis is a common problem among children and can lead to important social and psychological disorders. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting nocturnal enuresis in children in the form of a systematic review. Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were followed to find relevant studies. PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Scopus, Embase and Science Direct databases were searched using keywords such as "enuresis", "child" and "effectors", and no lower time limit was applied to perform the searches. Studies were published between January 2000 and May 2024. The quality of the articles was evaluated using the STROBE checklist. Findings: From 827 primary studies, 18 articles were included in the final review. The results showed that factors such as family stress factors, low socio-economic status, educational backwardness, younger mothers, mothers with less education, working mothers, family history of bedwetting, presence of constipation, number of family members, age, number of family members , the family's monthly income, deep sleep and the history of frequent urinary tract infections can have an effect on nocturnal urination in children. Conclusion: The present study showed that factors such as age, male gender, parents' history of nocturnal enuresis and history of nocturnal enuresis in the family were important predictive factors for nocturnal enuresis in children. Health care workers should, with the aim of solving this problem, parents of children with nocturnal enuresis to prevent problems in the future and the possibility of urinary tract diseases.
